Job Summary The Manager - Field Services will provide leadership and guidance to our Field Repair service technicians to ensure quality work and customer satisfaction. This position is responsible for providing technical direction for overhaul, repair and maintenance of equipment including but not limited to marine and industrial gear sets, and motor and generator bearings to customer repair teams. Responsibilities:
Provide leadership, training, and direction for all field service employees Provide technical and general support as needed to all field service employees Maintain good relations with our customers Follow and abide by all industry standards, regulations, and laws Assist in recruiting and hiring of new service field technicians Monitor the progress of all current and pending projects Execute pre-field job preparation and instruction Assist with any issues or questions field technicians may have on the job Provide regular job reviews regarding completeness of project and follow up checks Review service reports for completeness and accuracy Provide emergency field serving when needed Assist with internal customer troubleshooting and technical calls Coordinate with sub-contractors and/or equipment rentals when necessary on jobs Work with Scheduling, Engineering, Admin on job/project related items Assist in developing technician training programs Maintain and update customer, job, and equipment database records Perform yearly performance review of technicians Enforce company policies and procedures Monitor and track technician vehicles and living expense during projects Perform technical service for safe and successful overhaul, repair and maintenance on marine main reduction gears, industrial gears, attached drives, alignments, motor, and generator mechanical equipment Provide technical direction to skilled labor performing work on customer sites to assure the executed work reflects the technical requirements and quality standards of the service request Prepare timely and accurate timesheets, expense account statements, and professional reports Minimum Requirements:

years' experience in the turbine/field equipment service industry 5
years of field engineering or related engineering experience with overhaul and maintenance on marine and industrial gears, steam turbines, motors and generator equipment Excellent communication and leadership skills Strong knowledge of field machining and field repair of turbine components and related equipment Demonstrated ability to work effectively with minimum supervision, with strong business acumen Proficient computer literacy skills including Windows based applications Knowledge and ability to perform motors and generators Start-up/Commissioning including static tests and operational tests (temperature elevation, vibrational tests, electrical parameters, etc.) Strong project management abilities with ability to lead and delegate Ability to work well under pressure and manages stressful situations Knowledge and ability to execute assembly/disassembly of electrical components such as cables, capacitors, rtd s, surge arresters, fan motors, CT s, TC s, winding (coil assembly, parts insulation, etc.) Knowledge and ability to execute assembly/disassembly of mechanical components of machine parts such as rotor, stator, covers, heat exchanger, sleeve bearings, roller bearings, couplings, mechanical seals, etc. Great customer service skills Knowledge and ability to perform tests and inspections:
Borescope inspections, Neutral zone adjustments, brush and brush holders' tests and adjustments, commutation inspection (surface condition, sparkling conditions, etc.) Strong decision-making skills and results driven Ability and willingness to travel up to 85% of the time to various locations in the USA and internationally Strong knowledge of gears, marine steam turbines, motors and generators with the ability to provide technical direction for overhaul, repair, maintenance, and testing for a range of equipment vintages, sizes, and application types Strong organizational and communication skills with demonstrated ability to effectively manage people Knowledge and ability to execute electrical tests in MV AC Electrical Motors and Generators including insulation resistance, winding resistance, voltage drop test, transformation ratio Effectively communicate internally and with customers and skilled labor the job-planning requirements (including risk assessment, and technical requirements) that define in detail the operations to be performed through your review of the job requirements, engineering procedures, drawings, schedules, and process instructions Knowledge and ability to execute mechanical inspections in Large and Medium electrical rotating machines (motors & generators) including dimensional control sleeve and roller bearings, air-gap inspections, metrology skills, etc. Knowledge and ability to perform shaft alignments for flexible and solid couplings, motor - gear box / load machines, and generator - gear box / turbine Education:
Bachelor's Degree in project management, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred
Salary Range:
$150K -- $200K
Minimum Qualification
Engineering Management, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical EngineeringEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
